The Malak ( Hebrew for Ambassador) Christian Book Centre Ministry
in Tamale has been set up to help the people of Ghana to obtain both new and good quality used Christian books/bibles and
fundamental bible teaching materials. We are situated in Tamale in Northern Ghana so as to be
more readily available to resource organisations and individuals in that area for which there was previously no access. We
will also be operating a reference library and a storage depot at the centre.

History
In 2001, whilst working for an American missionary organisation in Ghana, John Cartledge saw
the appalling lack of Christian books in the north and felt that God was prompting him to provide a Ministry Centre for the
people of that area of Ghana. He contacted a Christian book supplier in the UK and the first container of
books was sent to him. After a lot of hard work, the Centre has now been completed in Tamale and Christians there are
now rejoicing that their prayers of many years have been answered. Before this, Christians had to make a trip of nearly
1,000 miles to Accra to obtain Christian books. Even there, not many Christian books were to be found at prices people
could afford. Malak Christian Book Centre Ministry aims to get the books needed to the people
at affordable prices and also runs a donation ministry around the Tamale area.
Tragedy at the Centre - 2009
On 15th May there was an explosion and fire at the Centre which killed Mark Box, the husband of a missionary family from
Florida and virtually destroyed the Centre. See under EVENTS for pictures.
Our Mission
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they
preach, except they are sent?
